As a Security Officer Licensed Patrol Officer in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. In this people-first role, you will support residents, staff, and visitors through strong communication, teamwork, and integrity while using an agile and reliable approach to daily activities.

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter spaces, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorized access, and provide directions and assistance to visitors and staff while supporting a respectful environment.
• Assist with de-escalation support when needed, communicate with site contacts and/or first responders, and help maintain orderly operations during routine activities and unexpected events.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
