About the Job

The Native Studies Summer Workshop for Educators (NSSWE) is designed to increase the knowledge, sensitivity, and awareness of the histories, cultures, and languages of the federally recognized tribes in Minnesota. The goal of NSSWE is to facilitate learning among teachers, administrators, student service providers, and professionals from government and heritage institutions in order to increase their effectiveness of working with American Indian students and communities and teaching American Indian content.

Position Summary
This position will support the Lead Organizer for the Native Studies Summer Workshop for Educators (NSSWE) in planning, implementing, and assessing NSSWE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Outreach to schools and organizations to publicize the workshop
  • Correspondence with presenters and participants
  • Developing and maintaining planning documents
  • Collecting information to compensate presenters
  • Developing materials used in the workshop
  • Providing follow-up communication with presenters and participants
  • Developing an assessment tool to be shared with NSSWE participants
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree is required
Ability to collaborate effectively with people from a variety of communities, backgrounds, and identities.

OLPD Description
Our world is full of systems and policies that affect how individuals learn, grow and relate to one another. Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (OLPD) studies how those systems and policies are shaped by culture and power. We prepare leaders and researchers to transform our education and organizations for the better.

We teach our students how to design, test, implement, and revise our institutional strategies in both the public and private sectors, from the international to the local level. Our students gain practical experiences in creating approaches to increase social and economic development, foster human flourishing, disrupt power structures, and promote a more just society.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $25.00; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
