What to Expect
The Industrial Engineering Supervisor leads a team of skilled Industrial Engineering Technicians supporting the Battery, Drive Unit, Energy, and Semi programs at Gigafactory Nevada located in Spark, NV. The IE Technician Supervisor works with cross-functional teams such as Production Operations, Production Engineering, Quality, New Product Introduction, Manufacturing Engineering, Spares, Maintenance, and Production Control to sustain and improve existing production processes and support the development and ramp of new production processes.Successful candidates will demonstrate superior leadership and communication skills; the ability to manage multiple priorities; a background in high-volume manufacturing; and excellent work ethic and collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Build and mentor a strong, motivated team capable of consistently delivering high quality results against aggressive targets
- Allocate Industrial Engineering technicians across multiple business units and various technical requirements
- Drive highest quality work across multiple disciplines: work measurement accuracy; cycle time analysis, bottleneck identification and improvement, capacity analysis, labor analysis and planning, factory layout accuracy
- Maintain and track teams KPI's, ensure technicians meet timelines and objectives
- Work cross-functionally with leadership to achieve project implementation
- Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
- Develop hiring, training, and career progression plans for given team, while increasing individual skillsets. This would include conducting weekly 1x1's with each individual technician
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- 3+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years managing teams of people in a production environment
- Knowledge of production capacity and labor planning, 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principles
- Proficient with MS office programs (Excel, PowerPoint), SQL, VBA, AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
- Experience selecting and developing new team members
