Under the direction of the Application Development Manager, the Programmer Analyst I supports the development, administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise business systems across multiple divisions. This role provides development, technical support, user assistance, and training to ensure effective system utilization, while contributing to the evolution of the organization's technology platforms-currently centered on IBM Maximo.
Develops a comprehensive understanding of the organization's enterprise business systems, gaining proficiency in both system functionality and underlying code to effectively support, maintain, and enhance applications. Performs system maintenance, supports module implementation, and develops application customizations to meet business needs. Supports all phases of software module implementation, including research and development, requirements gathering, use case development, systems analysis, planning, testing, and execution. Performs data-related activities including data manipulation, import/export, and field mapping to support system configuration and integration. Writes SQL queries, scripts, and develops reports to support system functionality, analytics, and business decision-making. Applies knowledge of application development, system maintenance, customization, and database management to design and implement solutions within the organization's business systems platform. Utilizes built-in tools and external technologies-such as Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, BIRT, and Microsoft Power BI-to enhance system usability, optimize performance, and fully leverage platform capabilities. Leverages innovative thinking and data management practices to identify and implement process improvements that drive operational efficiency, business growth, and improved user experience. Designs, develops, tests, and deploys Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions using platforms such as UiPath or similar tools to automate and streamline business processes. Develops, implements, and delivers training programs tailored to specific software modules, system functionalities, and user needs. Provides end-user support and troubleshooting to ensure effective system adoption and ongoing operational success. Collaborates with software vendors, technical consultants, site managers, and executive stakeholders, requiring strong communication and relationship management skills. Adheres to established quality assurance methods and procedures to ensure applications, systems, and deliverables meet defined quality standards and customer requirements. Evaluates industry best practices and develops an understanding of the relationships between business operations, enterprise systems, and network processes to support continuous improvement. Demonstrates strong customer service skills, with the ability to understand, anticipate, and effectively respond to the diverse needs of users and stakeholders. Summary of desired skills and experience for the Tessera Programmer Analyst I:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required. 0 - 3 years of previous increasingly responsible experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System or Enterprise Resource Planning software is required. Combination of previous experience and education will be considered. Must have strong Business Systems skills. Must have strong communication skills. Must be results oriented, a forward thinker, and have a strong problem-solving ability. Ability to efficiently and effectively manage workflow and processes in a fast paced, changing environment. A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
