Job Description
The Senior Assistant Director of Slate reports to the Senior Associate Director of CRM Operations and is responsible for implementing the strategic plans of Admission and Enrollment at UMKC, primarily through Technolutions Slate (the admissions CRM). This position directly supervises, organizes, and trains Slate roles to ensure a smooth inquiry-to-enrollment process for students. This role collaborates with campus stakeholders, academic departments, and external partners to ensure the CRM is configured and utilized in alignment with established institutional goals. Key Responsibilities
- CRM Management
- Lead Slate CRM implementation, governance, and continuous improvement.
- Represent Slate in cross-departmental and multi-campus meetings.
- Configure CRM functionality to support enrollment and marketing strategies.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the prospective student experience.
- Implement new Slate features and integrations.
- Team & Project Management
- Supervise and mentor Slate Analysts, Data Specialists, and System Support Specialists.
- Lead student intern hiring, including job posting, interviews, and onboarding.
- Manage staff schedules and support professional development.
- Oversee project timelines and CRM initiatives.
- Application & Data Management
- Oversee application lifecycles.
- Manage and enhance application content and workflows.
- Optimize Slate's automation processes.
- Oversee specialized application workflows
- Collaborate with the Dual High School DHS office to ensure process standards and support.
- Ensure integrity of application processes
- Communication & Marketing Oversight
- Support the communication team to ensure messages are delivered.
- Audit and adjust delivery recipient lists for accurate targeted outreach.
- Analyze communication metrics and provide recommendations.
- Event & Interview Coordination
- Oversee recruitment events data and interview scheduling data in Slate.
- Ensure integration of event data with workflows.
- Develop dynamic event landing pages and registration forms.
- Technical Integrations & Support
- Identify and resolve data errors and system discrepancies.
- Collaborate with EAS and IT teams on complex issues.
- Conduct audits and implement value corrections.
- Serve as the escalation point for technical issues.
- Manage CRM support tickets
- Prospect & Inquiry Management
- Oversee intake and maintenance of inquiry and prospect records.
- Manage data imports from multiple sources.
- Ensure standardization of inquiry and prospect records.
- Maintain automation processes for recruiter assignments.
- Oversee duplicate resolution processes to maintain data integrity.
- Reporting & Data Insights
- Design and maintain queries and reports in Slate.
- Develop queries for actionable insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders for data outputs.
- Ensure reports are accurate and timely.
- Training & Documentation
- Lead functional training for Slate end users.
- Conduct regular training sessions on Slate processes.
- Maintain and update the CRM operations manual.
- Present new processes to the Office of Admissions.
- Recruitment & Campus Engagement
- Understand academic programs, admissions policies, and recruitment strategies.
- Represent the CRM team at recruitment events.
- Support front-line admissions operations during peak periods.
- Other Requirements
- Understand the recruitment funnel and the steps applicants must take from inquiry to enrollment.
- Demonstrated work ethic and ability to produce deliverables independently.
- Excellent writing, communication, and time management skills.
- Familiarity with application data exchanges from sources such as Common App, Liaison, Parchment, and the National Student Clearinghouse.
- Knowledgeable of a Student Information System (SIS) like Peoplesoft or similar programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- A least 1 year of supporting SLATE admin experience preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- 5 years of experience in Higher Education Admissions preferred
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $59,737.60 - $70,000 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
