Kratos is seeking a highly motivated candidate as a Hardware Design Engineer for various missile test and satellite ground station programs. The Hardware Design Engineer designs and develops analog and digital hardware systems from concept through verification. This role translates system-level requirements into implementable hardware designs and supports the full development lifecycle including circuit design, simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout oversight, and hardware validation.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Decompose system-level requirements into detailed hardware requirements and design specifications.
  • Design and develop analog and digital hardware solutions that meet performance and reliability requirements.
  • Simulate and optimize circuits using industry-standard tools.
  • Perform schematic capture and oversee PCB layout to ensure signal integrity, power integrity, and manufacturability.
  • Support hardware integration, debugging, and verification using laboratory test equipment.

Required Experience:

  • Experience with analog and digital hardware design.
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools such as SPICE or Micro-Cap.
  • Experience with FPGA design using VHDL or Verilog and related development tools.
  • Familiarity with memory and high-speed interfaces including SDRAM, DDR3/DDR4, JESD, PCIe, Ethernet (1GEi100GE), SPI, UART, and I2C.
  • Experience using lab instrumentation including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced engineering environments and adapt to new technologies.
  • Familiarity with C++ and/or Python and experience working in Linux environments.


Preferred Skills and Experience



  • Experience with RF circuit design.
  • Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium, Cadence, OrCAD, Allegro, PADS, or Mentor Graphics.
  • Experience with FPGA platforms and tools such as Xilinx devices (Artix-7, MPSoC, RFSoC) and Vivado.

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $100,000-$135,000
