The Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division is seeking an Accountant Analyst for the Devens, MA site who will report to the Naples/Devens Accounting Manager and play an important role within the organization. The Accountant Analyst will work closely with other functional leaders and managers - working to support improved growth and profitability using strong analytical and business partnering skills. This position will be accountable for the safeguarding and ethical accounting of their sites' assets in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles. In addition, the Accountant Analyst will apply principles of accounting to analyze diverse and complex financial information and prepare financial reports. They will be responsible for the accuracy, integrity, control and timeliness of financial reports, analyses, systems, and processes develop and administer to all their sites the accounting function with the Win Strategy.

Position Summary:

This role will be responsible for 1 of the division's sites (Devens, MA) which make up approximately $79M of revenue. The role will report directly to the Devens/Naples Accounting Manager. Functions include budgeting, planning, internal control oversight, financial reporting both internal and external, financial performance measurement, financial system implementation, and technical accounting support and guidance.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares general ledger, asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing moderately complex account information.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other management reports.
  • Prepares diverse and complex financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Performs economic research and studies subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, investments, and financial and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and income statements.
  • Provide management with accounting information necessary to make business decisions.
  • Recommends financial actions to management by analyzing accounting options.
  • Maintains accounting controls by auditing compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Writes and recommends policies and procedures.
  • Maintains financial security by following accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting complex accounting policies and regulations.
  • Applies continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems.
  • May lead or be assigned to a special project team.
  • Complies with federal and state legal requirements and professional standards. Studies existing and new legislation, enforces adherence to requirements; and advises management on needed actions. Acts as prime contact on high level projects.
  • Establishes goals and objectives required to complete projects. Trains and mentors less experienced employees.
  • Shares specialized knowledge with others. Represents company on high level projects. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement).

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in accounting, finance, or economics. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in general and cost accounting area.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), methods and concepts. General knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and/or Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • General knowledge of and ability to apply continuous improvement techniques.
  • Proficient with automated accounting systems, spreadsheet applications, and general use of intranet/internet communications and standard business applications software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports; respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions by drawing on experience with similar situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members and team leaders.
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.

  • Pay Range: $87050 to $145250 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
