I&E Maintenance Planning Specialist

SUMMARY

Plans, prepares, schedules and executes projects and/or maintenance activities at the assigned areas of
responsibility. Will be knowledgeable in the use of the Computer Maintenance Management System
(CMMS) for all equipment in the assigned area and recommends standard work procedures for repair
jobs. Proficient in the use of SAP and specialty instrumentation software.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Plans work orders, recommends and prepares materials related to instrumentation, electrical,
control valves, services, tools and equipment for planned and emergency related maintenance or
repairs.
* Create Requisitions.
* Coordinate work between other departments for projects that are multi-craft in nature.
* Plan jobs/field work with the unit instrument/electrical engineers.
* Recommends and specifies standard work procedures for major and routine equipment repair.
* Coordinates and executes field work for instrumentation/electrical projects under the oversight of
the unit I&E Engineer.
* Coordinates priorities and sets maintenance work schedules for turnarounds and/or work areas.
* Manages PM system to implement and/or modify plans to minimize unexpected breakdowns.
* Manages equipment numbers and manages BOM's for equipment revisions and installations.
* Prepares and monitors work plans to reduce downtime and optimize job performance.
* Contacts manufacturers for parts information, technical data and equipment specifications.
* Contacts Buyers and Blanket vendors for expediting and purchasing materials.
* Contacts contractors and outside shops for repair work and services as needed.
* Performs special projects as assigned.
* Coordinates work efforts with other unit planners as needed.
* Completes performance and development goals as assigned by Maint/I&E Superintendents.
* Tracks annual costs of maintenance contracts and works with I&E personnel to identify ways to
effectively lower costs.
* Assists warehouse personnel in setting up inventory and spare parts.
* Evaluates and improves SAP utilization for I&E reporting and planning activities.
* Attend training sessions as per schedule.
* Assign safety critical instruments and valves SAP equipment numbers.
* Create man-hour reports on work orders as needed.
* Follow and Support Work Management Process and Turnaround Work Process.
* Perform Beamex changes and instrument additions for I&E capital work.
* Assist with upkeep/ownership of Unit's AMS deployment.
* Maintains and assists with upkeep of GoPlant software.

* Perform duties in a manner that protects personal safety as well as the safety of
others. Promptly report Safety, Health or Environmental issues or incidents to management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record
screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.
* A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.
* A.S. Technical degree in related field or equivalent plant experience, preferably in the chemical
industry.
* Knowledge of computer Microsoft Office and SAP operations related to maintenance and planning.
* Preferred to have five years field experience on maintenance and repair of instrumentation and
electrical equipment in the chemical industry.
* Knowledge of maintenance repair functions and chemical plant equipment.
* Knowledge of planning, scheduling and repair practices and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use
hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is
occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25
pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of
the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including
safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require
usage of stairs and elevators.
