OPERATIONS MANAGER



Position Summary:


Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Operations Manager oversees production operations within the plant. He/she will coordinate the activities of the production, shipping/receiving, maintenance, and quality departments in processing materials and manufacturing products to ensure that optimal levels of quality, safety and productivity are met.

Position Responsibilities:



  • Provides leadership & perform essential management tasks. This is a hands-on management position that supports, coaches, directs and oversee all daily operations of the plant production. Ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
  • Reviews factory orders to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Prepares production and personnel schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets customer specifications.
  • Reviews production and operating data and resolves operational and manufacturing problems to ensure minimum costs and highest possible quality, and to prevent operational delays.
  • Monitors machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance, product quality, and optimum utilization.
  • Continually champions the Health and Safety of the team members.



Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • Directly supervises Manufacturing Supervisors, Maintenance Technicians, Quality Assurance Technicians, and Packaging Coordinators.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities, including: interviewing and providing input on the hiring and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to distinguish and identify colors, and the ability to adjust focus.



Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or other related field.
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience
  • 5+ years of manufacturing management/operations leadership experience
  • Experience working within an ERP System - SAP Preferred.
