Job Description
General Purpose of Job: Providing care to and assessment of Team Members and those providing support at UMH-Sparrow Health System to ensure safe performance of job functions and providing services to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Triage Team Member injuries and coordinate follow-up care as appropriate. Manage initial evaluation and follow-up for Team Member exposures with Infection Prevention and Human Resources. Managing and coordinating immunization clinics to support infection prevention measures and Team Member safety. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Team members may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Perform focused pre-hire assessments/physicals for new Team Members of Sparrow Health System (SHS), and document results and findings in the electronic medical recordkeeping system.
- Perform initial respiratory fit testing and PAPR training on new UMH-Sparrow Health System Team Members, and record results in the electronic medical recordkeeping system.
- Conduct vaccine management for UMH-SHS Team Members and others who provide services to UMH-Sparrow, including interpreting laboratory tests (titers), and administering various vaccines (ex. Influenza; MMR; Varicella; TDap; Hepatitis A/B, COVID, etc.)
- Supports compliance with tuberculosis screening/testing on UMH-SHS Team Members and others who provide services to UMH-Sparrow, including interpreting laboratory tests (Quantiferon Gold), and providing appropriate follow up based on results.
- Adhere to and be a role model of compliance with Team Member Health Services departmental policies and procedures, and related policies and procedures including Infection Prevention, Safety and Human Resources.
- Assist with reviewing and updating Team Member Health (TMH) departmental policies and procedures with the input of Team Member Health team, Leadership and Medical Director. Seek opportunities for process or policy improvement or greater clarity.
- Assists with performing clinical competency assessments for Team Member Health clinical staff to include: TB skin testing, blood draws, blood pressure, hand hygiene, vaccination administration techniques; respiratory fit testing and drug screening.
- Coordinates the necessary exposure follow up including documentation of exposures using the electronic medical recordkeeping system.
- May represent CHS on Infection Control, Influenza Vaccine, and Safety committees, as assigned.
- Assists with compliance reporting for Sparrow leadership and assist management in the and supplies maintenance.
- Collaborates with UMH-Sparrow Human Resources, Safety, and Infection Prevention departments to help enhance the health and safety of Sparrow Team Members system-wide.

- Demonstrates compliance with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality regulations. Respects Team Member and organizational confidentiality.
Job Requirements
| General Requirements |
* Current Michigan RN license. * Obtain and maintain Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire. * Obtain Certified Occupational Health Nurse credentials within three (3) years of hire. * Current Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) credentials preferred |
| Work Experience |
* Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN * Clinical experience in Occupational health, Employee health, Medical-Surgical, Rehabilitation, and/or Long- Term/Skilled Nursing settings preferred * Experience with the electronic medical recordkeeping system for Team Member health, preferred. |
