The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. New Margaret Hague - Women's Health Location may vary Monday - Friday Shifts may vary Bilingual preferred The Patient Service Representative works with the practice physicians, manager, and support staff to ensure patient satisfaction and efficient operations, PSRs prepare for patient visits, triage practice calls, schedules patient appointments, and performs routine clerical tasks, The PSR acts as a practice ambassador contributing to overall patient experience, safety, and privacy, Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required Relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience Previous medical receptionist experience or background in general office, preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrates a clear understanding of the importance of patient satisfaction and safety Strong oral and written communications skills Attention to accuracy and detail Able to multitask and work under pressure Ability to work independently and in a team environment Knowledge of medical terminology and Epic systems, preferred Answers routine questions in person and over the telephone Coordinates with insurance providers and handles pre-authorizations/certifications as necessary Creates and maintains health record information, files and organizes as needed Performs basic clerical functions such as copying, scanning, faxing, sorting and distributing mail Performs patient check-in and check-out functions Other duties as assigned, Provides a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt and consistent service, Adheres to patient rights: provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and records, Demonstrates professionalism with families, visitors, physicians, co-workers and supervisors Listens and communicates effectively Supports teamwork by cooperative problem solving through participation in meetings, projects, etc Utilizes principles of continuous quality improvement in all work situations to assess, measure and improve organizational and department functions Organizes work sets priorities with a minimum of supervision and seeks guidance as appropriate Makes decisions that are timely and consistent with department, objectives, policies and procedures Demonstrates sound judgment; accepts and benefits from constructive criticism Participates in ongoing education as required, At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
