Get to Know Your Team:
- Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656-bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women's Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.
- Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them promptly and providing them with courteous
customer service. - Answers phone courteously, schedules/cancels appointments, takes accurate messages, and directs
calls to the appropriate staff members. - Reviews face sheets with patients at the time of visit and has the patient sign the sheet verifying
information. Changes are to be made to the registration system. - Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal, financial, and insurance
information. - Receives requests and obtains prior authorizations, monitors current authorizations for expiring dates
to update accordingly, reviews all denials, and submits appeals. - Manages correspondence with insurance companies and internal departments to assist with medical
necessity and appeals documentation. - Documenting all prior authorization information and communication in the patient's electronic
medical record. - Monitors the waiting room and work area to ensure a clean and professional environment.
- Is knowledgeable of the location and contents of the MSDS manual.
- Limits access to patient/employee information on a job-related need-to-know basis.
- Responds to supervisor's and co-workers' requests for information and assistance in a cooperative
manner and within an appropriate time frame. - Communicates problems, workflow, opportunities for improvement, and other relevant issues to
supervisor or others as appropriate.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrate excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, documentation, and compassionate
interpersonal communication skills - Must be able to make decisions under pressure
- Strong written skills, including correct grammar, punctuation, and usage
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle a variety of tasks and assign priorities to those
tasks - Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team setting, as well as independently, with minimal
supervision - Highly self-motivated, self-directed, sound judgment, professionalism, and a positive attitude
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Previous customer service or hospital experience preferred
