POSITION SUMMARY

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all mill equipment. This position will troubleshoot electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.

PAY RATE: $50/hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:



  • Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with rules, regulations and JSAs.
  • Follow safety protocols and report hazards to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Install, repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment with a primary focus on safe and continuous operation of all equipment and facilities.
  • Utilize CMMS to document all work orders and equipment maintenance throughout the facility.
  • Assist in maintaining the inventory of critical electrical spare parts.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) problem-solving efforts to eliminate repeat equipment failures.
  • Assist in evaluating and measuring vendor performance.
  • Collaborate with millwrights in making mechanical repairs as needed.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Journeyman Electrician License.
  • 1+ years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting and commissioning industrial electrical devices, including the following:


    • Electric Motors/Motor Controls
    • VFDs/Soft Starters
    • HMIs
    • Remote I/O
    • Ethernet/IP Devices and Industrial Networks


  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), having the ability to understand, read and modify ladder logic routines.
  • 1+ years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting and commissioning control devices, including the following:


    • Photo eyes
    • Proximity Sensors
    • Limit Switches
    • Relays
    • Solenoid Valves



  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic power, including basic components and controls.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge/skills
  • Computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.


  • Soft Skills:


    • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
    • Problem-solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges creatively and effectively.
    • Organizational Skills: The ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Examples include time management, multitasking, and production targets.


  • Ability to pass a hair follicle test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E Arc Flash
  • Familiarity with the Allen Bradley family of PLC controllers and Rockwell Automation's Logix Designer programming software.
  • Familiarity or expertise w/ analog controls and feedback, encoders, temposonic probes, proportional hydraulic valves, motion controllers, light curtains, and vision systems
  • Familiarity with fast-paced production environment
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • General understanding of OSHA requirements, LOTO procedures and standard operating procedures
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable motor vehicle history for business travel in company vehicle.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Production

Ability to sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distance, and climb stairs.

  • Lift above waist height - frequent depending on machine center
  • Lift over 50 lbs. - frequent depending on machine center
  • Repetitive use of hands - constant
  • Stand/walk - constant

  • Vision - near and far correctable; depth perception
  • Hearing - preferred for awareness of surrounding machinery, mobile equipment, emergencies


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, airborne particles (sawdust).
