Under the general supervision of the Admin Supv 2, coordinate workload for the Special Services unit. Functions include but are not limited to; communicating with customers by phone, email and or in person; moving various materials and supplies; performing office and laboratory relocation's; assembling, disassembling and reconfiguring office furniture; delivering inbound freight shipments; receiving freight and storehouse stock; inventory management/fulfillment for $700K work of inventory; shipping/packing orders; using a variety of material handling equipment (i.e. hand trucks, flat carts, manual/electric pallet jacks) and delivery vehicles to accomplish tasks.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
- No Minimum Education required
- Experience coordinating workload and administering on the job training for diverse teams that complete a wide variety of projects for a broad range of customers
- Experience managing physical inventories valued at over $600K and driving delivery vehicles (vans and/or 25,500 GVW delivery truck) and using a lift gate to deliver and/or move a wide variety of material/freight in busy pedestrian/bicycle traffic areas.
- Experience handling and operating powered and non-powered tools and material handling equipment (e.g., hand tools, circular saws, drills, stair climbers, gas and electric forklifts, electric stock pickers, electric pallet jacks, hand trucks, flat carts, mail tubs, cages etc.).
- Experience using computer/handheld device hardware and software (e.g., Internet Navigation, Microsoft Office primarily including Word, Excel and Outlook) for email, queries and system updates.
- Analytical skills and experience to align job requirements with staff capabilities, required tools, and jobsite locations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with State/Federal laws and UC policies.
- Communication skills to read and follow policies, draft operating procedures, follow instructions on hazardous materials shipping requirements and regulatory guidelines (e.g. packing slips, shipping orders, memos) as well as experience using a driver's manifest and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner, multitask, work independently under tight deadlines while providing exceptional customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience installing and reconfiguring various lines of modular furniture, including Steelcase, Herman Miller, etc.
- Experience handling Hazardous Materials.
- Knowledge of campus departments and locations.

Department Overview
Logistics is a multifunctional organization providing services to the Davis campus and medical-center community. It is comprised of a variety of production and service units including Aggie Surplus, Bulk Mail Services, Central Receiving, Campus Stores, Mail Services (campus and UCDHS), Microscope Services, Special Services, and its related programs. Incumbent performs coordination of service provided by Special Services and at times provides support to other units within Logistics.
