POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for coordinating and executing all outbound shipping activities, including developing and maintaining the daily shipping schedule. The role works closely with transportation carriers to ensure coverage of all transportation needs and to communicate any shipment delays to customers. Responsibilities include entering scheduling agreements and sales orders into SAP, processing and posting customer shipment invoices, and managing email communication with internal teams, carriers, and customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Scheduling

  • Coordinate and schedule shipments of quicklime, bagged products, and rail movements.
  • Enter and reconcile outbound delivery documentation daily within the SAP shipping system.
  • Process intercompany and intracompany material supply shipments via truck and rail.

Customer Service

  • Communicate effectively with customers, transportation vendors, sales personnel, and skill centers.
  • Balance customer delivery needs with available inventory to support operational and contractual requirements.
  • Respond to customer requests and maintain contract compliance, including certificates of compliance, volume reports, inventory monitoring, quality results, and proofofdelivery (POD) requests.
  • Manage POD discrepancies and coordinate resolutions between the customer and Lhoist.
  • Provide customer support during offshifts and weekends, including participating in an oncall rotation.

Problem Solving

  • Partner with the Logistics team to resolve freight issues related to material returns or shipment diversions.
  • Communicate with terminals regarding product sizing, tonnage, and shipment additions or deletions.

Reporting & Accounting

  • Process debit and credit transactions for material returns in SAP.
  • Oversee the cashsales process at plants and terminals.
  • Prepare and validate daily inventory and shipping reports.
  • Perform monthend closing tasks to support financial accuracy.

Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Highly organized, detailoriented, and rigorous in using systems and tools (SAP, CRM, SRM, VIM, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, charts, and presentations).
  • Able to operate successfully in a fastpaced environment with shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and timesensitive demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy, quality, and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Forwardthinking and proactive in identifying potential issues and resolving them before they escalate.
  • Resilient and adaptable; able to stay focused under pressure and adjust to frequent changes.
  • Reliable and dependable, with excellent attendance due to the critical nature of the role.
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, organizational, and phone/communication skills; confident in public speaking when required.
  • Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Capable of supporting leadership with ideas to improve SOPs, shipping controls, safety, quality, and performance processes.
  • Willing and able to work any shift, including oncall, overtime, and weekends as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Must be physically able to perform work assigned. *
  • Will be working in an office environment but could be asked to go out to the manufacturing and/or mining environments.
  • The employee could be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, Uneven Surfaces, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles. *
  • The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, twisting, and sitting.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma, GED Equivalent, or demonstrated skills or ability.
  • AA degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Engineering or technical related field or equivalent work experience in the field is desired.

PREFFERED EDUCATION:

  • BS Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience, utilizing SAP or similar ERP in mining, shipping, and/or heavy manufacturing environment.

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years of previous customer service experience in a mining environment.
