Department of Neurology - Postdoctoral Research Scholar

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Neurology is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Post Doctoral Research Scholar for the Cognitive Division. This position will provide scientific and technical leadership in the management, design, and conduct of basic pre-clinical research for the oncology division. The postdoc will also participate in didactics, research, and teaching when available.

Duties to include:

• Designing and executing experiments
• Maintaining clinical databases
• Collecting and analyzing data
• Assisting with writing and revising manuscripts, grant proposals, abstract submission, and publications
• Coordinating and managing pre-clinical or clinical trials

Please note: This position is for a limited duration not to exceed five (5) years unless there are unusual circumstances.

Required Qualifications

• MD or PhD in related discipline.
• Minimum three (3) years' research experience at the graduate level. Research experience in neuroscience preferred.
• Experience using mouse models in research, including experience with stereotaxic surgeries.
• Experience using MATLAB.
• Excellent laboratory and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
