The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to support ongoing research in auditory science. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-impact research, develop leadership experience, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary research team.


Research Responsibilities

The postdoctoral scholar will play a key role in the execution of externally funded research projects focused on auditory function. Primary responsibilities include:



  • Recruiting and managing human research participants
  • Collecting experimental data from human subjects
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and documenting research results
  • Preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
  • Presenting research findings at scientific conferences
  • Participating in pilot data collection and grant-writing activities aligned with the research team's interests and/or the postdoctoral scholar's own research goals


Leadership and Collaboration

In addition to research activities, the postdoctoral scholar will assume a leadership role within the Auditory Research Lab at the University of Iowa. Responsibilities include:



  • Managing day-to-day research activities within the laboratory
  • Mentoring and coordinating PhD students, AuD students, and undergraduate research assistants
  • Collaborating closely with a partner auditory research laboratory at Northwestern University
  • Contributing to a collaborative, supportive, and productive research environment


Requirements

  • PhD in communication sciences and disorders or closely related field.
  • Expertise and research interest in auditory research.
