Position Summary The Import/Export Specialist is responsible for ensuring the Division is compliant with applicable U.S. Government laws and regulations. This position will establish processes and systems to ensure that the Division is in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Additionally, it will be responsible for auditing processes, procedures and international transactions to ensure compliance as laws, regulations and international conditions change. This position will report to the Division Contracts Manager and have frequent interaction with all levels of Parker employees and service provider representatives. This position does not have direct reports.
Essential Functions * Acts as the point of contact for export and import transactions at the manufacturing sites providing interface with BU functions to provide guidance on current and future trade regulatory requirements as they relate to the BU business plans and future products. * Determining licenses and license exceptions or exemptions, as appropriate, for all transactions, and proactively establishing the terms of export and import licenses that meet compliance requirements and organizational needs * Supports review and execution of secure government programs within the BU including proposal activity and execution of new business. * Supporting Group Trade Compliance assessment guidelines and audit checklists to Business Unit requirements to ensure adherence to Group compliance policies and procedures. * Ensuring that procedures related to trade regulations and reporting requirements are in place for all appropriate areas of responsibility and personnel at the Business Unit. * Supervising, managing and maintaining Trade Compliance at the Business Unit, providing day-to-day Trade Compliance support for export and import activities. * Tracks, audits, and maintain records of import and export shipping documents generated in house or by freight forwarders to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. * Maintain Trade Compliance documentation in support of the site record keeping requirements in keeping with BU requirements. * Restricts and halts shipments are not in compliance with Government regulatory requirements, license approval and company policy and refers to the TCO. * Assists as required in software/automation implementation relating to trade compliance and company ERP systems. * Maintains and ensures the export transaction screening process (i.e. national, dual national, third country national and international restricted or denied party lists) is adhered to. * Completes reports, logs or equivalent records, or notifications of potential or verified matters of non-compliance. * Keeps current with the Trade Compliance Program attending requirement training and seminars and provides input and feedback on any changes or additions. Coordinates training and business meetings to facilitate the exchange of information on export compliance. Develop and implement programs to increase cross-functional knowledge and awareness of compliance requirements and policies as needed. Qualifications * Bachelor degree required in a related field * Preferred: 5+ years of trade compliance, logistics, regulatory or contracts experience * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) * Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills * Assertive, strong initiative, highly organized, customer focused * Collaborative in a matrix-oriented environment Come join the Parker Aerospace Team!
