POSITION SUMMARY:

To perform a standard process for accurately shipping and/or receiving products and materials, performs related warehouse duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for ensuring all customer sales orders are accurately packaged and ready to ship (correct assembly configuration, test standards, engraving and heat shrink when applicable)

  • Create PTS labels for hose assemblies and create COC for sales orders

  • Verify hose assembly pressure testing

  • Verify quantity and quality of parts that are shipping

  • Schedule freight pick up

  • Invoice all shipments

  • Occasionally act as material handler: pulling fittings for pick pack, bulk hose for shipments, parts for production cell and returning unused parts and reels to locators

  • Responsible for receiving inbound inventory into MSSv within 24 hours of delivery

  • Stock and put away received product according to standard work

  • Perform inventory cycle counts

  • Able to properly identify the destination of materials being shipped and ensure proper shipping instructions per standard work without assistance

  • Engage in business/team meetings when necessary

  • Assist with problem solving efforts to improve operational efficiency

  • Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion, follow 5S practices

  • Know and practice all safety regulations and quality guidelines

  • Raise quality or technical issues to Production Control Specialist or Hose Assembler Lead

  • Perform work of an equal or lower classification

  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.

  • Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.

  • Other duties may be assigned at a later time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education required:

High School diploma or GED

Experience:

At least two years of shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  1. Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  2. Sound decision making skills.

  3. Good math, reading, writing skills.

  4. Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention.

  5. Ability to work well in a team environment.

Skills/Competencies:

  1. Basic computer skills.

  2. Vision: Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks.

  3. Must be able to operate material handling vehicles (forklift).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, safety vests)

  2. Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis

  3. Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions

  4. Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.

The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
