PPG Aerospace has a job opening for a Global Senior Export Compliance Manager Aerospace. As a Global Senior Export Compliance Manager - Aerospace, you will develop, implement, and lead the management of the PPG corporate export compliance program, policies, and procedures (collectively CEC Program) within the Aerospace export control function to comply with U.S. export laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The role also liaises with regional Export compliance functions on foreign export regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a full understanding of all PPG Export Management Procedures, Compliance Procedures, and SOPs that support the PPG Corporate Export Compliance (CEC) Program.

  • Drive implementation of the CEC Program and direct the development and implementation of Aerospace-specific processes and procedures within the Aerospace SBU, including new business areas and platforms, and all new Aerospace acquisitions.

  • Direct, guide and supervise the Aerospace Export Compliance Team on the following regulations in conformance with policies and processes established by the CEC Program.

  • Provide support and direction to the Trade Compliance Managers (TCM)'s as they work with the PPG Aerospace business, global subsidiaries, sales, procurement, project managers, order management, etc. to resolve matters pertaining to export/re-import transactions to comply with all applicable U.S. laws and regulations.

  • Develop and train Aerospace export compliance function, Aerospace Export Compliance Coordinators (ECCs), and all appropriate Aerospace business and functional partners on export compliance rules and regulations, PPG CEC Program, and specific business/functional compliance responsibilities

  • In conjunction with business and location-based TCMs and ECCs, review existing aerospace compliance practices to identify process improvements and track timely solutions to enhance the efficiency of the export control requirements.

  • Direct the implementation of facilities compliance requirements by the Aerospace TCMs and ECCs.

  • Structure, lead, and effectively manage Aerospace export compliance self-assessments to include a comprehensive assessment of the Aerospace Compliance Program performance, semi-annual assessments of government authorizations as required by Corporate or Aerospace policies and support the activities of Corporate Audit Services to audit and validate the above.

  • Manage and complete Aerospace export and other export compliance-related assignments and projects as assigned by Leadership, Legal, Corporate Export Compliance Team (ECT), or Corporate Compliance.

  • Support requested activities needed to investigate and ensure accuracy of all draft Aerospace export compliance disclosures to the government; assist in the development of remedial and corrective actions; track and lead the completion of these actions by the established due date(s); monitor the effectiveness of the remedial and corrective actions and coordinate any needed adjustments with the ECT and Legal Counsel.

  • Lead the implementation and management of all aspects of the Aerospace Jurisdiction and Classification program, and Licensing Program (ITAR, BIS, and Non-US) and review all authorization applications for accuracy and completeness before submission to CEC.

  • Manage compliance with Aerospace export licensing/exception/exemption/agreement requirements for the site's products and technical data.

  • Provide regulatory guidance and support for existing and new IT tools to be deployed and used by the business.

  • Ensure the effective implementation of the Aerospace Transaction Screening Programs (denied parties, sanctions, embargos, etc.) through the establishment of responsibilities and procedures implemented in the Aerospace business units, including the conduct of regular assessments to determine whether the implementation is effective and applied as required.

  • Develop an annual strategy for the Aerospace Export Compliance Program activities, including a review of existing policies, processes, and procedures and an analysis of the requirements for revisions or adoption of new processes and procedures as needed.

  • Timely report any potential or suspected export control violations or concerns to Leadership and Corporate Compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a 6+ years' experience in leading and managing Export Compliance programs and diverse/remote organizations.

  • Experience leading international export compliance programs is desired.

  • Ability to develop and enhance a comprehensive export compliance strategy and drive its implementation to a successful and timely conclusion.

  • Travel of up to 20% may be required.

The base salary range for this position is $135,000 to $165,000 with a possibility of an annual bonus up.
