We're looking for a 2nd Shift Working Supervisor who can bridge the gap between "high-level strategy" and "making chips." In this role, you aren't just a manager in an office-you're the technical heartbeat of the night shift. You'll lead a team of CNC and Manual Machinists, ensuring the shop stays on track while jumping in to tackle the tough setups and "impossible" repair jobs yourself. Why This is the Ultimate Leadership Role The Best of Both Worlds: Spend part of your time leading/mentoring and part of your time on the machines (CNC Lathes, CNC Mills, Manual Machines). The 4-Day Grind: Work 10 1/2 -hour shifts Monday through Thursday. Willing to work 1 Saturday (5 hours) per month when needed. Shift Premium: Includes a competitive shift differential on top of a leadership hourly rate. What You'll Do Drive Production: Manage the workflow for the 2nd shift team, ensuring deadlines are met and quality is flawless. Technical Support: Act as the "go-to" for complex setups, G-code edits, and machining challenges. Quality Watchdog: Perform first-article inspections and troubleshoot part deviations before they become scrap. Team Mentor: Train junior machinists on best practices, shop safety, and the finer points of precision machining. Shift Handoff: Coordinate with the 1st shift supervisor to ensure a seamless transition of work-in-progress. What We're Looking For Machining Mastery: [8-10+] years of experience across CNC Lathes and Mills. Natural Leadership: You're the person people naturally go to when they have a technical question. You lead by example, not by ego. Shop Math Pro: Expert-level blueprint reading (GD&T) and trigonometry. Reliability: You're the anchor for the night crew-reliable, decisive, and calm under pressure.
