Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - OB / Patient Care Technician Support Experience Level: Intermediate Setting: Hospital or Clinical Environment (OB) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with OB experience to support patient care in a fastpaced clinical environment. This role works closely with Registered Nurses and the care team to provide highquality, compassionate patient care, assist with daily clinical operations, and ensure patient safety and comfort. Key Responsibilities * Administer assigned patient care duties in accordance with clinical protocols and scope of practice * Screen patients for pain (Yes/No); escalate and coordinate additional assessment needs with the Registered Nurse as required * Perform Patient Care Technician (PCT)-level functions, including: * Vital signs (V/S) * Intake and output (I&O) monitoring * Weights * Ambulation and mobility assistance * Answer patient call signals, lights, bells, or intercom systems and respond promptly to patient needs * Turn and reposition bedridden patients to maintain comfort and prevent complications * Provide physical support for activities of daily living (ADLs), including: * Getting in and out of bed * Bathing and dressing * Toileting * Standing, walking, and light exercise * Review dietary restrictions, food allergies, and patient preferences to ensure appropriate nutrition * Measure and document food and fluid intake as well as urinary and fecal output; report any changes to nursing or medical staff * Accurately record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate, as directed * Gather and communicate relevant patient information from caregivers, nurses, and physicians regarding condition, treatment plans, and appropriate activities * Observe patients for changes in condition, including: * Bruising or open wounds * Cognitive changes * Abnormal vital signs * Signs of distress or blood in urine * Document and report patient observations, behaviors, complaints, or physical symptoms to nursing staff * Remind patients to take prescribed medications or nutritional supplements, as appropriate * Assist with patient rounding and overall unit workflow support Required Skills * Ambulatory patient care * Clinical implementation * Workflow support in a healthcare setting Top Skills * Ambulatory Care * Implementation * Workflow Management Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED (must be in hand) * Two (2) years of OB experience in a hospital or clinical environment * Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association * Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license * Strong understanding of human anatomy and basic medical terminology Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
