The Staff Accountant applies well-established accounting principles, theories, concepts, and practices to moderately difficult financial problems.
Responsibilities
Perform centralized accounting and full-cycle month end close process for assigned corporate departments
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, accrual accounting, and variance analysis
- Support IT project accounting working alongside IT leaders.
- Ensures that invoices related to company assets are assigned the correct general ledger accounts and
departmental cost centers in the accounting system. - Communicate and work with operational personnel, as well as all levels of corporate management
- Assist management to ensure proper controls and SOX compliance requirements are met
- Support audit requests
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements
- Perform assigned ad hoc accounting projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university or equivalent education and experience
- In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa
- CPA would be a plus
- Customarily has at least three or more years of experience in full cycle month end close process, account reconciliation and variance analysis
- Experience with multi-location and multi-legal entity accounting
- Experience in a challenging, complex financial reporting environment
- Oracle or other ERP experience
