Position Summary

The University of New Mexico College of Arts & Sciences seeks a full-time Administrative Assistant to serve as backup at the front desk at the Dean's Office and provide general support and assistance for a variety of activities and tasks to include but not limited to TA/GA/RA Graduate Assistantships, Student Academic Scholarships, Payroll & Leave Usage processing, and Course Scheduling process backup.

The Administrative Assistant will also provide Outreach/Marketing & Event Planning support to three academic centers: The Institute for American Indian Research (IFAIR), the Institute for Medieval Studies (IMS), and the Feminist Research Institute (FRI).

  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

* Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor

* Ability to work independently and manage/prioritize multiple projects

* Payroll processing such as Banner/PHATIME and UKG/LoboTime

* Event planning and coordination experience

* Marketing skills via social media, newsletter development, and/or web development

* Experience as a UNM P-Card holder to include reallocation and reconciliation, UNM purchasing systems including Chrome River and LoboMart

* Experience using MyReports functions
