Our team is working to enhance our worldwide support of health-based research by delivering a spectacular international distribution experience.

Most work is performed Mon-Fri from office or office/home, with some flexibility required off-hours as needed, and for rotated urgent support. Training, educational opportunities, and career ladder in place for a motivated individual with appropriate mindset.

Responsibilities include:

• Arrange and manage safe and stress-free shipments of live mice across a rapidly changing globe.
• Communicate with customers (mostly written), build relationships, manage orders.
• Devise and implement improvements in both infrastructure and process.

As an Associate Inside Sales and Customs Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the sales team and ensuring seamless customs clearance processes for international transactions involving live animals and frozen or ambient specimens. This position requires a blend of sales acumen, expertise in customs regulations, responsibility for animal welfare for up to 12 days in transit, and development of processes to protect frozen shipments for up to 3 weeks in transit. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the sales process, addressing customer inquiries, and navigating the complexities of customs compliance for biological products. This role offers a dynamic blend of sales support and customs compliance, making it ideal for individuals with a keen interest in international trade and a customer-centric approach.

The salary range is $60,618 - $87,896. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

The candidate hired into this role will have the ability to work remotely but will be required to work onsite 15% of their time at our Ellsworth and/or Bar Harbor location.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
• 8+ years of experience in managing projects, service, logistics, and/or supervision in a technical environment.
• Strong software skills: Demonstrated ability to leverage software applications, including Excel.
• Self-starter with proven track record of creative problem-solving.
• Exceptionally articulate written and verbal skillset to comply with contracts and regulations, communicate clearly with non-native English speakers, and produce consistently accurate and professional communications.
• Comfortable pivoting at short notice to evaluate and address urgent, time-sensitive requests.
• 24/7 rotational 'on-call' for handling of international calls, Customs questions, airline clearance requests, and emergencies impacting live-animal or biological safety
