Job Title: Academic Human Resources Analyst 3

Location(s): San Francisco, CA

Job Function Summary:
This role involves recommending, developing, implementing, administering, coordinating, and/or evaluating Academic Personnel policies, labor contracts, statutes, programs, and procedures. Responsibilities may cover one or more of the following areas: academic recruitment, appointment and advancement; compensation and salary administration; welfare programs; visa procurement; benefits; payroll; training and development; academic personnel misconduct; equity; and labor and employee relations issues governing represented academic personnel.

Generic Scope:
The position requires an experienced professional who understands how to apply theory to practice and demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the professional field. The individual independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function, possesses broad job knowledge, and analyzes problems or issues of diverse scope to determine appropriate solutions.

Custom Scope:
As a seasoned professional with a comprehensive understanding of University, campus, and unit academic practices, policies, and procedures, this individual resolves moderate to complex academic personnel and HR-related issues affecting a broad range of academic titles. The role requires practical and creative problem-solving. The individual will serve as the primary academic personnel contact for a designated group of client departments.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
Candidates should have HR Generalist experience, including working across the employee lifecycle such as onboarding, payroll administration, employee relations, and offboarding. Experience in an academic or university environment is strongly preferred.

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 0800-1700 PST.
Work Location:
  • 95% remote; occasional onsite visits a few times per year.

Candidate Location Requirement:

  • Remote candidates must reside within California. Non-local candidates within CA will be considered.
