Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst - IT Finance & Vendor Management supports financial planning, vendor oversight, and contract administration within a large enterprise IT organization. This role partners with IT leadership, project managers, engineering teams, procurement, and finance to ensure vendor contracts, contractor resources, and technology investments are financially managed and aligned with organizational goals. The analyst translates financial and operational data into actionable insights, enabling informed decision-making and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Budget Oversight




  • Partner with IT leadership and business stakeholders to manage annual O&M budgets and capital project spend



  • Monitor and report on capital and operational expenditures, ensuring alignment with approved budgets



  • Perform financial forecasting, budget tracking, and variance analysis for IT programs and projects



  • Prepare financial reporting and spend analysis to support leadership decision-making




Vendor & Contract Management




  • Manage full lifecycle of IT vendor and staffing contracts, including renewals, amendments, change orders, and closeouts



  • Oversee staff augmentation vendor contracts, monitoring billing rates, staffing utilization, and vendor performance



  • Track contract expenditures and staffing utilization to improve cost transparency and financial control



  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; resolve issues and foster effective collaboration



  • Partner with Legal, Procurement, IT, and HR to ensure contract compliance and mitigate risks




Contractor & Resource Financial Management




  • Track contractor resources and financial allocations across multiple IT projects to maintain alignment with project budgets



  • Monitor contractor project assignments, end dates, and staffing requirements; coordinate approvals for new or extended resources



  • Administer contractor timesheet and expense tracking in compliance with contracts and internal policies




Procurement & Financial Operations




  • Create and review purchase requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, proper financial coding, and adherence to procurement policies



  • Review, validate, and process vendor invoices; collaborate with accounting for timely payments and audit-ready documentation



  • Support financial tracking of software licensing and technology assets as part of IT investment management




Reporting & Analysis




  • Generate reports on contract expenditures, vendor performance, and staffing utilization to support operational and financial decision-making



  • Perform monthly financial reporting, including variance commentary and spend driver analysis



  • Support regulatory reporting and rate case preparation as needed




Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field



  • 5+ years of experience in:




    • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)



    • Budgeting and forecasting



    • IT financial operations or project financial management



    • Vendor financial management or contract administration



    • Contractor or staff augmentation financial oversight



    • Financial reporting and variance analysis






Technical Skills




  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, financial modeling, data analysis)



  • Experience with ERP/financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, or similar



  • Experience with Vendor Management Systems (VMS) such as Vinely preferred



  • Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools preferred



  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and cost allocation
