The mission of
University Advancement is to secure support for NC State University in terms of dollars, service, and engagement by delivering an integrated program of development, alumni relations and advancement services. Our objective is to build deep and long-term relationships with alumni and other stakeholders, and partners that will ensure increased support to NC State in the future.
Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving (AEAG) uses a wide variety of platforms, channels and methods to engage the university's alumni in mutually rewarding long-term relationships. The unit also procures and increases annual gifts to the university by leveraging existing relationships and creating new ones. Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving collaborates with partners across campus to plan and implement a coordinated, integrated strategy aimed at increasing support for the university and building a culture of philanthropy within the university and across its constituencies. |

| Essential Job Duties |
The Student Engagement Manager serves as a member of the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving (
AEAG) team and is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing programming that engages NC State University students, both undergraduate and graduate. Reporting to the Director of Stakeholder Engagement, this role leads the execution of AEAG's student engagement strategy, including planning, managing, marketing, implementing, and assessing programs and initiatives for the student constituency. A central component of this position is the leadership and oversight of the Student Alumni Association Ambassador program (
SAA). |
| Other Responsibilities |
- Identify, recruit, cultivate, train, develop and support SAA members and leaders.
- Develop and execute SAA events that incorporate communication and engagement goals, collaborating with University Advancement, colleges and campus partners to meet established metrics, including student alumni networking programs.
- Coordinate SAA participation in major University events such as student orientation, Wolfpack Welcome Week, Packapalooza, Homecoming, Legacy Luncheon, Day of Giving and other campus traditions.
- Maintain and enhance signature student traditions, including the Ring Program and Traditions Keepers.
- Advise and support SAA leaders in planning and delivering social, educational, philanthropic and community service activities.
- Manage the SAA budget and conduct regular analysis and reporting to evaluate return on impact.
- Provide expertise in developing and expanding student engagement goals, objectives, and strategies. Grounded in the University's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP): High Impact Experiences framework, ensure students have multiple meaningful interactions with NC State alumni and friends throughout the academic year, including overseeing a mentorship program, facilitating panel discussions, transition programming, life-skills training and creating networking opportunities.
- Collaborate with the AEAG Communications team to market and promote programs across appropriate communication channels.
- Build and sustain relationships with internal and external AEAG partners.
- Benchmark, monitor and adjust program areas to align with defined goals, procedures, budgets and timelines.
- An essential of this position will require that it transport students to and from leadership retreats and engagement events as well as transport materials to volunteer leaders throughout NC. A NC Drivers License is required for this position.
- Attend and support university-wide events and University Advancement meetings as needed.
- Participate in other Alumni Engagement seasonal activities.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
|
| Other Required Qualifications |
- Experience in alumni or student affairs, program development, including planning and executing activities and events for student and/or alumni audiences.
- Exceptional communication and collaborative skills.
- Strong organizational skills and volunteer management skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with students, alumni, donors, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Experience advising and developing student leaders through mentorship and engagement initiatives.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Knowledge of the culture, practices, and history of NC State University, Student Alumni Association Ambassador program (SAA) Program.
- Experience managing and creating content to drive engagement and communication goals.
- Experience in a role that required significant public contact.
