Sigma Defense is currently seeking a Software Developer to support on site software development for PMA290 Software Support Activity (SSA) in Patuxent River, MD USA.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of software developer experience.
  • 2-5 years experience developing JAVA applications.
  • 2-5 years developing and deploying code in Linux (RHEL preferred) environments.
  • 0-2 years experience creating containerized microservice applications.
  • P-8A Application Based Architecture (ABA) Experience.
  • P-8A Tactical Open Mission System (TOMS) Experience.
  • MINOTAUR Family of Systems (MFOS) Experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or Electrical Engineering.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Assist in the development of JAVA applications supporting either large enterprise TOMS application or smaller microservice ABA applications.
  • Support deployment and integration of applications through knowledge of RHEL execution environments, including a solid understanding of Linux CLI commands.
  • Understanding and use of containerized applications and hypervisors for ABA application hosting.
  • Create scripting solutions and standalone applications to resolve smaller scale problems and support SSA requests.
  • Assist in on-going implementation of the Agile Development methodology.
  • Support all efforts to remove impediments of the engineering team to ensure on time delivery and completion of sprints and deliverables.
  • Support the development, design, and architecture recommendations for current and future PEO C4I Software (SW) and hardware (HW) baselines.
  • Support design solutions integrated into any common network/hardware baseline or environment.
  • Develop and provide inputs to functional, allocated, and product baseline engineering documentation, design-related technical briefs.
  • Implement Agile development methodology and participate in planning activities using PO directed Agile tools.
  • Provide management support of enterprise Linux architectures and support building, configuring, and securing Linux, and CoreOS virtual machines, operating systems/applications, and integrating these into an enterprise architecture.
  • Configure VMware hypervisors.
  • Develop test plans and functional test objectives to ensure that SW and HW baselines are satisfying all requirements.
  • Develop system installation procedures.
  • Create automated Windows and Linux bare metal deployment strategies.
  • Install and configure applicable technologies; hardening applicable technologies in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Security Requirements Guides (SRGs), Risk Management Framework (RMF), Computer Task Orders (CTOs), and other best practices.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 annually.
