About the Role
The Director, US M&A role will be based in Brooklyn, NY and will support origination, evaluation, structuring, approval and execution of M&A transactions. The role is also responsible for supporting the Group Strategy Function as an analytical partner and collaborating with NGV in the evaluation and commercial execution of business development and other investment opportunities. What You'll Do
Support core functions of M&A -Evaluate and execute both buy side (mergers and acquisitions) and sell side (disposals) opportunities to support the Group's strategy -Engage with investment banking network, businesses and investor communities -Evaluate potential acquisitions from quantitative and qualitative / strategic perspectives, including: -Interface with external advisors including investment banks and internal contributors (e.g., Financial Control, Treasury, Group Tax) -Conduct research and analysis, synthesizing data and developing insights and strategic recommendations -Develop and review financial models -Design and structure transactions -Assess transaction impact on National Grid Execute transactions through due diligence, bid, negotiation, and approval phases, interfacing with internal and external legal specialists, accountants, technical experts, and other advisors as needed -Prepare presentations and board papers for Group executives, the National Grid Board, and senior stakeholders -Report progress against key milestones, issues, opportunities, and risks to the relevant governance bodies -Support due diligence efforts including coordination of subject matter experts, development of data rooms, and management of diligence requests Perform market scanning and intelligence, reviewing key industry events and their implications for National Grid Partner with Business Units and other Functions -Group Strategy: What You'll Need
