Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring that effective and consistent practices are being followed in region. Acts as key communicator to field and as an advocate of company and business operating policies and practices. This position requires operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, Core & Main will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Ensures that effective and consistent operating practices exist at all levels and locations.
  • Oversees hiring, training and development for District Operations Managers.
  • Maintains contact with the field, performing operational reviews and site visits.
  • Coordinates with corporate operations on special projects and votes on ability to perform.
  • Ensures accounting procedures and controls are in place as mandated by Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Reviews P&L for assigned regions.
  • Manages operating expenses and ROIC, approving fixed assets as assigned.

  • Experience working in an organization with geographically dispersed locations

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • Generally, 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification.
  • Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

  • May recommend/make decisions regarding new programs/initiatives that have significant impact to the business and carry consequences in unsuccessful endeavors.

  • Manages a larger team or multiple small teams through direction of subordinate management and/or supervisory staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable

Environmental Job Requirements

  • Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes, or odors.
  • Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.
  • Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about.
  • Occasionally there may be a requirement to stoop or lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).

Pay: $97,172.13 - $138,817.33 per year
