Our team in the Military Aircraft Group in East Aurora, NY is looking for a Site Quality Manager. You will report to the Site Director, Quality Systems and Process and have a full-time on-site work schedule in East Aurora, NY.

Moog Military Aircraft Group is looking for an experienced Site Quality Manager who will be responsible for the site quality functions and vision. In this role you will manage and improve the site quality management system (QMS) ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards and serve as the face of quality while supporting lean improvements and reporting quality performance to site leadership.

Here's what you'll work on:

  • Lead a team of direct reporting managers of internal audit, calibration, receiving inspection and direct reporting of quality process manager.

  • Support the vision and quality framework laid out to ensure quality solutions and initiatives are fully integrated with MAG's business objectives, priorities, strategies and mission.

  • Drive a culture of quality that supports adherence to our quality management system and a right first-time mindset.

  • Assist in developing a framework to monitor and analyze regulatory, customer and industry trends and continuously help the business evolve the quality strategy to establish proactive processes and policies to negate or minimize impact to Moog and customers.

  • Instill quality and lean principles driving efficient practices including lean, defect prevention and cascading lessons learned across products and processes.

  • Drive the development of robust quality leadership across the site through structured processes, targeted coaching, and intentional mentorship.

Here's what you will need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred

  • 8+ years of professional experience in the field of quality.

  • 7+ years of leadership experience, including demonstrated capability of:

    • Leading, developing and coaching high-performing teams of employees within a multi-level organization.

    • Leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver tactical & strategic plans that achieve operational objectives.

    • Effectively leading through organizational changes.

  • Knowledge and understanding of aerospace quality standards, Aviation Regulations (FAA, CAA UK, EASA, CAAC, etc.) and Industry Standards (AS9100, ISO9001, etc.).

  • Experience with conducting audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • A continuous improvement mindset, with a proven track record of enacting lean manufacturing strategies and or Six Sigma projects.

  • Apply critical thinking to analyse complex situations, identify key issues and develop innovative, practical solutions through structured problem solving.

  • Strategic thinking with a proven ability to develop and execute innovative plans that drive measurable results and align with organizational goals.

  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines and budgets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

It would be ideal if you also had:

  • Familiarity with advanced product quality planning (APQP), failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), production part approval process (PPAP), measurement system analysis (MSA) & statistical process control (SPC)

  • Aerospace and defense industry experience

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $130,000.00-$190,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
