Sales Executive III
Location: Kansas City Travel: Regional travel required World Fuel is expanding its retailbranded fuel presence across the Southeast, one of the fastestgrowing energy corridors in the country. We are seeking a highly experienced, relationshipdriven Sales Executive III who can immediately operate at a senior level, manage complex longcycle retail fuel deals, and serve as a trusted advisor to owners, operators, and major brands. This is a strategic expansion role supporting significant market growth and upcoming retail portfolios in the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. If you are a seasoned retail fuel sales professional who can walk in and deliver results, we want to meet you.
What You'll Do
Territory Growth & Strategic Expansion
- Lead retailbranded fuel growth across NC, SC, GA, FL, and AL.
- Build a highvalue pipeline in strong growth markets.
- Collaborate with leadership on future territory design and account allocation as new retail packages come online, including a potential 40site portfolio centered around the Charlotte market.
Retail Business Development
- Prospect and close new branded retail fuel deals using a relationshipdriven, consultative approach.
- Navigate long sales cycles typical of retail fuel (9-12 months).
- Model deals within internal systems and independently manage opportunities from discovery to close.
- Identify opportunities across dealer, consignment, and branded supply structures.
Customer & Market Management
- Build strong relationships with retail site operators, major brands, and refiners.
- Support onboarding and transition of new accounts while ensuring brand alignment.
- Maintain market intelligence around competitors, branding dynamics, and regional operator activity.
Internal Collaboration & Reporting
- Partner with the existing Southeast Sales Executive to rebalance territory coverage.
- Provide weekly pipeline updates, forecasts, and revenue visibility to leadership.
- Participate in strategic conversations with Retail leadership to finalize territory boundaries, compensation structure, and account allocation.
What You Bring
Required Experience
- Significant experience in retailbranded fuel sales heavily preferred.
- Proven success managing long, relationshipbased sales cycles in the retail fuel and convenience store industry.
- Strong understanding of branded supply deals, backtoback structures, and retail site operations.
- Ability to step into a senior role and operate as a plugandplay sales executive with minimal rampup time.
- Stable career history with solid tenure; ideal candidates show commitment and strong performance.
Preferred
- Experience working with major brands/refiners.
- Strong existing relationships within the Southeast retail operator market.
- Experience navigating noncompete considerations.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Compensation
The compensation model is being finalized and may include:
- Base salary
- Commission or hybrid incentive structure
- Possible ramp support or starter accounts depending on final portfolio decisions
