Client: Non Profit Role: Staff Accountant Payrate $30/hr-$35/hr Location:Midtown, Manhattan, NYC Contract covering for a LOA Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and assisting with audit and compliance requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly reconciliations for various bank accounts Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions and reconciling items Prepare analyses in support of Form 990 and the annual external audit Prepare daily and monthly journal entries to record account activity, including foreign currency transactions and translation Participate in the annual external audit and assist with special projects Prepare balance sheet and income statement account analyses Generate monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports Assist with additional finance-related assignments as needed Complete other tasks and duties as assigned Education, Experience & Skills Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting Minimum of 2+ years of accounting experience Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications Strong organizational and analytical skills Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities Collaborative work style with the ability to work effectively across teams Experience with Blackbaud, Financial Edge, or Raiser's Edge preferred Vaco by Highspring values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
