Security Officer - Weekday Retail Patrol

As a Security Officer - Weekday Retail Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail location. You will conduct routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter incidents, support loss prevention efforts, and assist guests and store teams with clear communication and customer service. You will document security-related activity, respond to calls for service, and contribute to a culture that is agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, team-driven, and grounded in integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to guests and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calling for assistance as needed and completing required notifications.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of sales floors, entrances, stock areas, loading and/or receiving zones, and the exterior perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor for unusual activity such as shoplifting indicators, unauthorized access, and disorderly conduct, and help to deter prohibited behavior through high-visibility presence and professional communication.
• Complete detailed reports and shift logs, assist with access control for staff and vendors, and support investigations by preserving observations and other available information.

Minimum Requirements:

• Being 21+ years of age is required.
• Loss Prevention experience is preferred.
• Lifting more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
