How you will make history here...

This is a technical role within the Campbell Product Data Management (PDM) group responsible for the product document translation for finished product commercialization and quality initiatives, managing critical product formulation information as it is transferred from the kitchen to the manufacturing facility. This position establishes and documents technical standards related to product formulation management for successful scale up and manufacture. Team members in this role are also responsible for technical documentation in systems such as the Optiva Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, SharePoint, etc. working in close collaboration with internal subject matter experts in Product Development, Packaging, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain. Projects are of low to moderate complexity and technical risk.

What you will do...

  • 70% of time - Systematic building of formulas, procedures, and specifications in the Optiva PLM system as required to ensure that products can be manufactured properly and according to specifications and can integrate with SAP & RMS plant floor systems.

  • 10% of time - Work collaboratively as a core member on multiple product commercialization business teams, independently manage (or manage with support as needed) all product documentation requirements needed to meet project timelines. Work closely with manager to adjust priorities and workload as needed to meet commercialization timeline commitments.

  • 10% of time -Tracking of Key Performance Indictors.

  • 10% of time - Complete all required training, as well as identify and complete training for skill growth.

Who you will work with...

  • Provide periodic and timely communication to Product Development, Supply Chain, and the Manufacturing plants on the status of Product Formulation updates. Manage workload effectively by understanding their own abilities, project priorities and knowing when to highlight concerns or risks and when to for support.

  • Manage temporary and or emergency product change documentation to product formulations and incorporate them into the product formulations as required.

  • As a Subject matter expert, mentor new Product Development technologists on Optiva, teaching best practices in the development of formulas, procedures & specifications.

  • Create and maintain a detailed tracker as required to prioritize work and record metrics for process and personal data quality improvement.

  • Communicate closely with Packaging, Product Development, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs and Marketing to maintain up-to-date project information and priorities.

  • Train external teams as required on new and existing PDM business processes e.g., formula submission, RFCE, label information requests, and other.

  • Must be able to deal with ambiguity, adapt quickly to change and persevere. In addition, the job requires the ability to identify critical path items and risks, and effectively communicate these to the business team and management.

What you bring to the table (must haves)...

  • Minimum education required; BS Degree in a Science based field

  • Years of relevant experience: minimum of 2 years

It would be great to have (nice to haves):

  • Possess a strong knowledge of formula formats and terminology. Have a foundational and practical knowledge of the Formula Decision Tree & Quality policies related to formula readiness, business process related to PDM role & dependencies. Emerging ability to identify issues and gaps and work with manager to propose solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills, along with strong collaboration skills.

  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Proficient at independent planning, prioritization, and execution / implementation.

  • Strong computer skills including fluency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and database management. Ability to quickly become proficient in all relevant software systems/applications such as Optiva PLM and SharePoint.

  • Technical knowledge base of food principles from lab to plant scale-up with some ability to apply that knowledge to formulations, manufacturing and finished product specifications, desired but not required.

  • Knowledge of commercial food manufacturing systems, equipment and thermal processes desired but not required.

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$55,300-$79,500

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
