Lactation Registered Nurse PRN Nights

Job Summary:

The lactation consultant is a member of the Mother-Baby team who provides consultation and hands onassistance for mothers experiencing difficulties related to breast feeding initiation/sustainment in both theinpatient and outpatient setting (prenatally and beyond discharge from the hospital.) The lactation consultant isresponsible for initiating a plan of care to provide consistent and evidence-based practice interventions. Thelactation consultant provides staff training in lactation support and gives direction by mentoring to nursing andallied health staff at the bedside.

Requirements:

Associate's degree in nursing.

Active Kentucky License.

Two years of relevant work experience.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required.

Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC)/Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) required.

International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required within 1 year of hire.
