Union: Yes

Bargaining Unit/Local: Utility Workers Union of America AFL-CIO, Local 445

Rate/Classification: $25.06 per hour, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, works with and performs the same work as that of the "C" classification. May perform other similar and related work within their classification. Other requirements include:

  • Possess a valid State of Michigan driver's license, be eligible for company-provided vehicle insurance, drive a company vehicle, and is responsible for vehicle's inventory, maintenance, and safe operation.

  • Possess the necessary physical abilities to perform the various job duties.

  • Maintain a commercial driver's license as determined by the company.

  • Satisfactorily complete Operator Qualification training.

  • Comply with standard safety precaution necessary to ensure their safety, the safety of others, and to prevent injuries/accidents.

  • Complete all necessary training and demonstrate ability to perform "C" classification in their department within a maximum six-month period. At the end of probation, it will be determined by the company whether to dismiss, extend training, or promote to "C" classification, Meter Reader, Collector or Storekeeper B.

What You Bring:

  • Possession of a high school diploma or successful completion of a General Education Development Certificate.

  • Good analytical and organizational skills.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
