Position Summary

The Senior Maintenance Repair Technician plays a critical role in ensuring company facilities, equipment, and systems are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and completing repairs across multiple field office locations, supporting smooth daily operations and a positive workplace environment. This position will report to the Manager of Real Estate and Facilities and will be based out of the Williston or Watford City, ND Field office. This role does have a 9/80 work schedule that includes being off every other Friday. Level and salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
  • Diagnose maintenance issues and complete repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from the R&M Coordinator and office administrators, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and operational impact.
  • Install, repair, or replace fixtures, appliances, and building components such as lighting, flooring, doors, locks, and hardware.
  • General carpentry skills are a necessity.
  • Assist with general facility upkeep, including minor carpentry, painting, patching, and grounds maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the R&M Coordinator and external vendors when specialized repairs or larger projects are required.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe, and operational conditions.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
  • Provide maintenance support for 3 large offices and 7 smaller locations, requiring travel between sites as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of proven experience in building maintenance, facilities repair, or a related skilled trade.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-service mindset when interacting with office staff.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work in varied environments.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) are a plus but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade certifications or licenses in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting multiple facilities or field office locations.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
  • Basic computer skills for documenting work, ordering parts, and communicating updates.
  • Experience working with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Work is performed in indoor office settings, maintenance/shop areas, and outdoor building and grounds environments.
  • Occasional exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
  • May require on-call availability outside normal business hours for emergency repairs.
