SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER - REMOTE

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a mid-sized, high-growth, PE-backed organization in Georgia for a Senior Accounting Manager. This opportunity offers executive visibility, a collaborative culture, and well defined long-term career growth. The role provides competitive compensation and remote flexibility for candidates based in the Southeast US.

Position Overview
The Senior Accounting Manager will lead a small accounting team and play a hands-on role in managing the close process, financial reporting, addressing technical accounting matters, overseeing inventory accounting, strengthening internal controls, and supporting external audit activities. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by improving processes and helping scale the accounting function to support continued growth. Responsibilities include:
  • Lead and manage the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals
  • Serve as a technical accounting resource, including research and implementation of new guidance
  • Oversee inventory accounting and related controls
  • Drive process improvements and scalable efficiencies across the accounting function
  • Support external audit relationships and internal control initiatives
  • Prepare and present financial reporting packages to leadership

Qualifications
  • CPA designation (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred)
  • 6-9+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Background in public accounting (audit) combined with corporate accounting experience. Strong preference given to those with Big 4 audit experience.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, including research and application of GAAP
  • Experience in product-based or inventory-driven environments
  • Demonstrated success leading process improvement initiatives
  • Proven ability to prepare and present financial information to senior stakeholders
  • Experience managing or leading accounting staff
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated career progression and professional stability
