Workforce Development Consultant

The Workforce Development Consultant plays an integral role in recruiting and attracting talent, while building and fostering relationships for future talent recruitment. This role represents Inova to targeted constituencies and develops, coordinates, and delivers community outreach programs and marketing strategies. Partners with branding team, Talent Acquisition Leadership, and Talent Acquisition Marketing for best outcomes, and participates or coordinates outreach events to build talent recruitment.

Candidate must be located in, or willing to relocate to, the Northern Virginia area to support the hybrid nature of the role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Consistently and positively contributes in a high-paced, changing work environment the ability to prioritize multiple functions and tasks and manage work time efficiently
  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for university and community best practices, strategies, processes, quality benchmarks, and standards for recruiting across the globe.
  • Represents Inova to targeted constituencies; visits middle schools, high schools, colleges and across the community; speaks to groups and individual students, potential candidates meet with school counselors, administrators and/or other constituent groups to promote outreach activities and as required to assist other recruiters.
  • Works closely with workforce development and military program managers to attach potential candidates.
  • Develops, coordinates, and delivers outreach programs and marketing strategies, including community workshops, retreats, and related recruitment efforts; arranges visits and tours for prospective students and other candidates from the community.
  • Strong understanding of Talent Acquisition function and how workforce development fits within a holistic talent pipeline strategy who can serve independently as the point person for internal coordination of university student recruitment and enrollment management goals.
  • Partners with branding team, Talent Acquisition Leadership, and Talent Acquisition Marketing to influence internal and external websites, including UR social media sites and messaging. Develops and maintains social media platforms related to university relations.
  • Coordinates participation of Inova staff and alumni for national and local college recruitment fairs, conferences, and related outreach community events; coordinates event-specific organizational aspects, promotional materials and information from the university and its colleges, educational programs, and degrees.
  • Participates in and/or organizes and implements all aspects of large, multi-departmental special events utilizing presentation and promotional materials, maintaining budgetary and operational controls, coordination skills with multiple entities and representing the university at local, statewide, and national events.
  • Prepares reports and proposals regarding recruitment and outreach activities and responds to inquiries from students, potential candidates, community connections and minority agencies.
  • Substantial travel for campus events and community outreach events for applicable training and development.
  • Supports additional projects and duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certification - Recruiter Academy Certified Recruiter certification within 12 months of hire
  • Experience - 1 year of relevant experience
  • Education - Bachelor's degree in related field (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 4 years)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience designing, implementing, or managing workforce development or talent pipeline programs in partnership with K-12 school systems and/or colleges and universities
  • Demonstrated success building and sustaining relationships with school administrators, faculty, career services, and community-based partners
  • Knowledge of career pathways, work-based learning models, internships, apprenticeships, dual enrollment, or early talent programs
