What to Expect

Tesla is seeking an experienced and driven Production Planning leader to help launch Semi Factory Nevada by overseeing production planning efforts and working alongside Manufacturing to support production goals. This leader will be responsible for a multidisciplinary team advancing Semi development with a focus on customer applications and build requirements. They will be responsible for a team building production schedules, aligning capacity with demand, and driving cross-functional collaboration to support the rapid growth of Tesla's SEMI truck production. This role demands a balance of strategic thinking, data-driven problem solving, and hands-on execution in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This leader will interact with upstream supply chain personnel to ensure adequate supply of inbound material. Strong leadership and broad technical expertise are key to delivering cutting-edge, proactive solutions.


What You'll Do
  • Perform analysis that supports defining the roadmap for production capacity increases/change,work with manufacturing & support teams to establish & improve processes (e.g. production batch sizes, material transfer processes & controls) for just-in-time or line-side Kanban delivery
  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules that align capacity with demand, ensuring on-time delivery of fabricated components and service parts
  • Create and implement workflows connecting Semi orders to production batching and variant handling
  • Generate and present production performance metrics, forecasts, and risk assessments to proactively address supply-demand challenges
  • Collaborate with Supply chain, NPI and Engineering to coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to plan for material and product end of life and minimize obsolescence
  • Develop and deliver continuous improvement initiatives in safety, environmental, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity objectives. Provide feedback to management on issues; benchmark other organizations for best practices
  • Lead by example of positive reinforcement and make the Tesla SEMI Factory a World Class Manufacturing organization

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering/Operations research, Supply Chain management or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing and production operations with a track record of implementing plans and leading teams through various production phases
  • Broad technical expertise in manufacturing equipment design, material flow practices, vehicle logistics, production systems, and lean manufacturing
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams, including employees distributed across several locations
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement certification strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills to lead diverse teams and engage with stakeholders
