Human Resources Coordinator


Job Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator performs administrative duties for the HR division. This position supports HR initiatives including data entry, administration of employment functions, and supporting recruitment, training, and onboarding activities.


Essential Functions
Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Utilizes Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to manage the onboarding process, key employee data changes, and document management.
  • Facilitates pre-employment paperwork while ensuring compliance with legal regulations and employment law
  • Serves as resource for internal and external customers for HR-related questions such as onboarding, employment verifications and education on company policies.
  • Completes day-to-day operations such as, distributing mail and answering incoming calls and emails in a professional manner.
  • Leads and/or aids in research and data collection, information preparation, audits, and various HR initiatives and projects.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of HR SharePoint,
  • Assists with maintaining workload within the team

  • Originates actions to influence events and to achieve goals; sees opportunities and acts on them
  • Ability to succeed within a team environment


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in HR, Business, or related field OR equivalent work experience
  • Basic Microsoft Office experience
  • Proficient in typing
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner


Preferred Qualifications
Above requirements and the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field OR 4 years' HR or related experience
  • 1-year HR Experience
  • 1-year customer-facing experience
  • Certification in one of the following: aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP (Associate professional in HR, Professional in HR, Society of HR Management-Certified Professional)


Environment and Cognitive/Physical Demands

  • Office Environment
  • Ability to read, hear, speak, keyboard, reason, communicate effectively and problem solve
  • Requires prolonged sitting and telephone use
  • Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers and printers
  • Infrequent lifting to 15 pounds
  • Infrequent stooping
