Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an Applications Developer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in transforming the future of technology and public health. This position will become part of Peraton's team that supports the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention.

What will you do:

    Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise web applications, mobile applications, and cloud-based systems
  • Lead full software development lifecycle activities including requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance
  • Build and maintain iOS and Android mobile applications, including app store submissions, updates, and compliance with platform guidelines
  • Design and implement secure, scalable APIs and backend services using .NET and Azure technologies
  • Develop data pipelines, dashboards, and analytics solutions using Databricks, Power BI, and Azure data services
  • Design and implement chatbots and AI-driven solutions using Azure Cognitive Services and Adaptive Cards
  • Perform database design, stored procedure development, and data modeling for complex systems
  • Ensure application security, accessibility (508), and compliance through scanning, documentation, and certification processes
  • Conduct testing across emulators and physical devices, troubleshoot production issues, and implement enhancements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business and healthcare requirements into technical solutions
  • Support annual updates, regulatory changes, and evolving technical standards


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience or 12 years of experience and a HS Degree/Diploma
  • At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proven experience developing mobile applications, web applications, and cloud solutions in healthcare or public health
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft .NET stack and Azure platform and Databricks
  • Experience in C#, VB.NET, Python, JavaScript
  • Familiarity with ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, REST/JSON
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization, analytics, and reporting tools
  • Experience designing and supporting public-facing and internal systems with high reliability requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with security scanning, CI/CD pipelines, and compliance documentation
  • Strong background in database design and data integration
  • Experience working across multiple projects simultaneously in complex enterprise environments
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally with business stakeholders, healthcare professionals, analysts, and technical teams
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, especially in complex, data-driven systems
  • Clear and effective technical communication, both written and verbal
  • Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Comfortable working independently while also contributing as a collaborative team member
  • Experience supporting long-term systems with ongoing updates, maintenance, and enhancements
  • Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the requred agency clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active CDC/NACI clearance

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
