As a Human Factors Engineer, you'll partner closely with clinical and quality teams to uncover barriers, analyze work systems, design usercentered solutions, and elevate processes that impact caregivers and patients every day. Job Summary

Provides in-depth analysis and measurement of work systems to initiate, develop and recommend business and clinical practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost. May act as an internal consultant to catalyze the various regional and corporate safety, quality and experience improvement efforts. Designs and tests novel, innovative solutions and lead key initiatives that are adherent to human factors best practices. May specialize in one or more of the following areas: benchmarking, human-centered system analysis and reengineering, participatory design and change management, and/or analysis of the reliability of process-driven systems requirements. Is recognized as an expert in human factors and reliability engineering within the organization. Has specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline or function. Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends solutions/best practices. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions. May lead functional teams or projects. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.

Essential Functions

Lead HumanCentered Systems Projects

  • Conduct proactive system analysis and usability testing
  • Develop study protocols and lead both qualitative and quantitative data collection
  • Analyze data and prepare technical reports and recommendations

Advance HumanCentered Design & Safety Science Principles

  • Champion and apply humancentered design, human factors, resilience engineering, just culture, and SafetyII concepts in daily work
  • Promote systemslevel approaches to safety and continuous learning

Coach and Educate Stakeholders

  • Train clinicians, leaders, and other stakeholders on human factors tools and methods
  • Provide coaching on data interpretation, design principles, and measurement
  • Support teams in applying qualitative and quantitative data to decisionmaking

Drive Participatory Design & Organizational Change

  • Lead humancentered participatory design activities to support change management
  • Assess human systems and collaborate with teams to understand impacts of interventions
  • Creatively engage employees to reduce resistance and strengthen commitment to change
  • Develop design strategies that support sustainable organizational change

Support Research & Program Dissemination

  • Contribute to internal and external dissemination efforts
  • Participate in peerreviewed publications, conference presentations, and research activities related to patient safety, quality, and human factors
Qualifications

Required

  • Master's Degree in Human factors engineering, human systems engineering, cognitive systems engineering, human/computer interaction, engineering psychology, sociotechnical systems engineering or related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience in quality, safety and/or process improvement, project management, and/or research in related field
  • CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - CPE (Certified Professional Ergonomist and/or Human Factors Practitioner) within two years after hire

Preferred

  • Doctorate in human factors engineering, human systems engineering, cognitive systems engineering, human/computer interaction, engineering psychology, sociotechnical systems engineering, or related field
  • 2 years of experience driving independent research and/or improvement initiatives
  • CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - AEP (Associate Ergonomics Professional) upon hire
