STS Technical Services is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support production and process optimization initiatives in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This role is ideal for early career engineers looking to apply engineering fundamentals to real world manufacturing challenges involving layout, workflow, efficiency, and quality improvement.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work closely with production, engineering, and management teams to analyze processes, improve efficiency, and support manufacturing operations through data driven decision making.


Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer applies engineering theory and principles to support industrial layout, manufacturing production, and process efficiency. This position requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, analyze production data, and assist with workflow optimization across manufacturing operations.


Job Responsibilities

  • Study time, motion, methods, and production speeds to establish standard production rates and improve operational efficiency
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and formulas to support quality and reliability standards
  • Review worker logs, processing sheets, and specification documents to verify compliance with quality assurance requirements
  • Assist in planning work assignments based on workforce performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization
  • Collaborate with engineering and management teams to support continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to create sketches, engineering drawings, and perform common engineering computations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer generated reports
  • Experience with engineering related software such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • Zero to two years of related manufacturing or engineering experience
