Application Window Open date: January 30, 2026 Next review date: Monday, Mar 2, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Tuesday, Jun 30, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking applicants for a full-time, Postdoctoral position. The candidate will conduct research on bacterial genomics and host immune response to infection in the context of developing novel, low-cost diagnostics for sexually transmitted pathogens. Preferred qualifications: Familiar with techniques such as multi-color flow cytometry and/or mass cytometry, DNA sequencing, sterile technique for bacterial culture with BSL-2+ practices, ELISA, and qRT-PCR. Bioinformatics knowledge is preferred but is not required. Experience in bacteriology research is preferred but not required. The candidate should be comfortable working with BSL2+ biospecimens including (cells, plasma, urine, mucosal swabs, saliva) from patients with sexually transmitted infections and HIV. A Ph.D. is required.
