Position Overview

Pantheon Data is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior-Level Marine Electronics Engineer with experience in System Architecture to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG)'s Ship Design Team in Washington, DC. An ideal candidate will have prior experience developing system architecture using DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and experience with IBM Rational System Architect.

Responsibilities



  • Conduct design of electric and electronic systems, study power generation and distribution, centralized machinery monitoring and control.
  • Apply knowledge of and experience with engineering principles and techniques, to develop and evaluate moderately complex technical reports related to application of C5I systems onboard USCG ships.
  • Review and evaluate the effect of new and/or modified electronics on overall system performance.
  • Review and adjudicate system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS's), Request for Waiver (RFW), Engineering Changes (EC's).


Required Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in System Architecture, Electronics, Marine Engineering, or another relevant technical, engineering, or a marine discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • At least six (6) years of recent, relevant professional experience developing system architecture using DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
  • Experience with IBM Rational System Architect.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in at least one of the following categories of C5I systems.

    • Cybersecurity, Command and Control, Navigation, Internal Communications, External Communications, Sensors, Combat Systems, or Intelligence Systems.


  • At least one (1) year of experience related to federal ship or boat building acquisition programs required.
  • Familiarity with USN, USCG, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations.
  • Proficient with common productivity software.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Meets DoD IAT Level II Baseline Certification requirements. This can be met by holding any ONE active certification from the following list:

    • CCNA Security
    • CySA+
    • GICSP
    • GSEC
    • Security+ CE
    • SSCP
    • CASP CE
    • CCNP Security
    • CISA
    • CISSP (or Associate)
    • GCED
    • GCIH


  • Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.


Preferred Skills and Experience



  • Master's degree in System Architecture, Electronics, Marine Engineering, or another relevant technical, engineering, or marine discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in at least three of the following categories of C5I systems.

    • Cybersecurity, Command and Control, Navigation, Internal Communications, External Communications, Sensors, Combat Systems, or Intelligence Systems.


  • Previous experience with shipboard and defense C5I systems.
  • Prior experience with DoD ACAT I or DHS Level I shipbuilding programs.
  • Additional certifications, such as PE License, PMP, DHS Systems Engineering Certification, or DHS Program Management Certifications.


Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Work Location: Hybrid - USCG HQ (DHS St. Elizabeth's Campus in D.C.) (at least 3 days/week)

Alternate telework schedules or work locations may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.

Travel:Up to 10% travel to CONUS locations is anticipated for ship checks.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
