Job Description: The Tactical Ground Mobility (TGM) Assistant Program Manager (APM) provides mid-level DoD Acquisition Program Management support to Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Maritime Special Programs within PMS 340. This role supports the planning, execution, and oversight of ground mobility-related capabilities in direct support of USSOCOM and SOF operational requirements.The APM serves as a key advisor to the Program Manager (PM), supporting cost, schedule, performance, and risk management across the program lifecycle, and coordinating across government, industry, and Integrated Product Team (IPT) stakeholders to ensure mission-aligned delivery of tactical ground mobility systems. Responsibilities include:
- Advise the Program Manager on the effective, compliant, and responsible execution of government funds, ensuring alignment with fiscal law, acquisition policy, and program objectives.
- Support program planning and execution, including tracking and reporting on cost, schedule, and performance metrics within the tactical ground mobility commodity area.
- Identify, assess, and manage programmatic and technical risks, developing and supporting execution of appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate and support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) across engineering, test and evaluation, logistics, finance, contracting, and other functional areas to enable successful delivery of ground mobility capabilities.
- Engage with industry partners and vendors to assess current and emerging technologies, production capabilities, and innovation relevant to tactical ground mobility and SOF mission needs.
- Support technical oversight activities, including:
- Review of test planning, execution, and results
- Evaluation of system, subsystem, and component performance against operational requirements
- Identification of gaps, risks, or integration issues impacting fielding or sustainment
- Assist in directing and coordinating technical and programmatic activities to achieve near- and long-term program objectives within established resource constraints.
- Exercise initiative and judgment in resolving issues arising from competing priorities, ambiguous requirements, or conflicting guidance.
- Develop, modify, and maintain briefing materials, reports, and program documentation using Microsoft Office and other government information systems to support leadership decision-making.
Here's what you need:
- Working knowledge of USSOCOM acquisition objectives, processes, and operational priorities.
- Strong understanding of program management principles, including lifecycle management, stakeholder coordination, and performance tracking.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel for program documentation, briefings, and data analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively with government leadership, technical SMEs, industry partners, and operational stakeholders.
