Job Summary:

A Community & Family Resource Center is a hub of support for families that utilize a multi-generational, strengths-based, and family-centered approach, is reflective of and responsive to community needs and interests, provides customized support for participants, and builds communities of peer support for families.

The Community Navigator is responsible for direct service navigation related to the 5 protective factors for caregivers of youth 0-21. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated and energetic individual with experience working alongside people in a positive and inspiring manner, who is forward-thinking and passionate about the delivery of services to regional families.

Qualifications and Requirements:



  • The Community Navigator is not required to have obtained any special license or certification for this position.


  • Associate's Degree or 2+ years of community-related work experience with parent engagement experience required.


  • Above average management skills; prior experience with managing contracts is preferred.


  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for engaging with diverse groups, ability to conduct community presentations, and build new partner relations.


  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills with the ability to prioritize, and execute in a high-volume environment.


  • Professionalism, maturity, and demonstrated capacity for leadership are essential.


  • Prior understanding of the issues and struggles of families and the ability to work with a variety of populations and personalities with respect, compassion, and dignity.


  • Ability to conduct, help facilitate and monitor sub-contractor meetings to ensure grant compliance.


  • Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job.


  • Must have a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.


  • Must pass Criminal Background Check.


  • Dependable transportation required. Employees are reimbursed for mileage consistent with federal IRS rates and must maintain adequate car insurance.


  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, prioritize multiple assignments, and work independently.


Could be combined with another position to create FT employment with benefits. Some evenings and weekends required.
